The club is pleased to announce that we will be holding Fall Co-Ed leagues for both Gaelic football and hurling commencing this Saturday September 21st at 4.30 pm in Roswell (see address below). These leagues provide a great opportunity for the men’s and women’s teams in the club to get to know each other, keep fit and have some fun during the off season. The leagues will build on the momentum generated in recent weeks as we have been getting great attendances playing Co-Ed games of Gaelic football and hurling on Friday nights in Piedmont Park.
The leagues will operate with a scoring bonus for “girl scores” i.e. 2 points/4 points allocated to each point/goal scored by a female team member. Fourty-six players have signed up to play in both three team leagues. Each team in each league will play four games before the top two teams advance to the league final. Both the hurling and Gaelic football league finals will be held on the same day with complimentary food and drink provided as families are encouraged to attend what should be a great day out. As a sign of support for our sponsors, teams will be named after Ri Ra’s Irish Pub, Fado’s Irish Pub & Mac McGee’s Irish Pub. Please check out the Fall Co-Ed leagues rosters and schedule which have been finalized this week as supporters/spectators are encouraged at all games.
People interested in checking out Gaelic games are encouraged to attend these games and avail of coaching which will be on offer to beginners. This is a fantastic recruitment opportunity for every member so please bring along a friend if you plan on coming to watch the games.
