Who are we?

Our history

Our club was founded in 1996. The name is Atlanta Clan Na Ngael (“Atlanta family of the Irish/gaels” is a close translation), but more informally, Atlanta GAA (GAA stands for Gaelic Athletic Association). The GAA is the overseeing body to our sport and is headquartered in Ireland. In the USA as a whole, our club is managed by the USGAA. The sports we play gaelic football, camogie and hurling. We practice in the Sandy Springs and Roswell area for the most part. Our teams participate in several tournaments throughout the year, including the USGAA Nationals, which congregates all teams from the USA.

Our Mission

Atlanta Clan Na NGael (aka Atlanta GAA) is a cultural club promoting Irish culture including the practice of hurling, camogie and gaelic football. Our community includes players, coaches, volunteers, friends and family. Our club’s goal is to promote the Irish culture and ensure all our members find enjoyment in playing and/or watching these sports and that all our members will find a welcoming community in our club.
