2014 Atlanta GAA Golf Classic

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Atlanta GAA Golf Classic returns to the Heritage Golf Links in Tucker on Saturday May 10th, 2014. This year’s event, which serves as the primary fundraiser to promote Gaelic Games in the Atlanta area, promises to be even bigger and better. The funds raised from the 2013 Golf Classic helped Atlanta send the Southeast’s first camogie squad to the NACB Playoffs in Cleveland where the girls performed heroically to reach the Junior final in addition to funding equipment purchases to allow us to establish local adult co-ed leagues to grow our games. The 2014 Golf Classic will assist in the establishment of a youth program in our club.

Sixteen teams competed in a four person scramble tournament in the 2013 Classic. The winning team led by Jim O’Sullivan were presented with the top prize by the Irish Consulate General Mr Paul Gleeson. Both players and supporters were entertained on the day by performers from the King O’Sullivan School of Irish Dance and the Ballybeg Band.
